Professor Jin-Keun Kim, Director of KI for Urban Space and Systems (KIUSS), elected a Fellow of ACI (American Concrete Institute)


Professor Jin-Keun Kim elected a Fellow of the Institute in recognition of his contributions to the work of ACI. ACI Fellows are highly respected in the concrete community, and ACI encourages its Fellows to proudly employ the designation “Fellow of ACI” of “FACI” after their names in professional communications.

Professor Kim has contributed to research and education on concrete material and structure by publishing more than 170 papers in international and domestic journals since 1985 at KAIST.

He has also recognized for his service as general secretary of ACI Korean chapter for 2 years(1988-1989), and served as an author, reviewer, and member of TC.

Especially he played a leading role in establishment of KCI(Korea Concrete Institute) and served as vice president(2003-2004) and president of KCI(2009-2010).

He has been awarded the prize of the month for the scientist(May, 2006) by Korean government



KI 미래도시 연구소 소장 김진근 교수 미국콘크리트학회(ACI) 석학회원(Fellow) 임명


김진근 교수는 그간의 공헌을 인정받아 미국콘크리트학회 석학회원으로 임명되었다.

미국콘크리트학회는 콘크리트분야에서 세계 최대 학회로 그 중 펠로우는 회원 최고등급이다다.

김교수는 1885년부터 KAIST 건설 및 환경공학과 교수로 재직하면서, 170여편 이상의 전문학술지 논문을 게재하였으며, 1988년부터 1889년까지 미국콘크리트학회 한국분회 사무국장을 맡아 일할 당시 (사)한국콘크리트학회 창립에 기여하였다.

또한 현재까지 (사)한국콘크리트학회 이사, 감사, 부회장, 회장직을 수행하였으며, 학회 및 연구 활동 외에도 국내 콘크리트분야 전반에 대해 기여한 공로를 인정받아 2006년 이달의 과학기술자상을 수여한바 있다.
