Won the Outstanding Indistry-cooperation Awardby Hyundai Motor Company


November 4th 2011, Professor Dai Gil Lee won the Outstanding Industry-cooperation Award by Hyundai Motor Company.

Superiority of the technologies, Patents, Applicability of the projects were reviewed and the award was given to the top 5 industry-university cooperation projects among 430 sponsored by Hyundai Motor Company from 2006 through 2010.

Professor Dai Gil Lee won the first place with the highest score.

Representative research achievements are development of sandwich composite endplate which is one of the key components of fuel cell stack using Axiomatic Design, development of innovative concept of assembling appliance, and development of continuous carbon fiber composite bipolar plate.

Thus, the alternative components for PEM Fuel Cell were developed to offer the advantages of low cost, low weight and ease of manufacture over the conventional components of PEM Fuel Cell while the new technologies and research results were achieved with 39 patents.



KIDCS 이대길 교수 연구팀, 현대자동차 주관의 우수산학과제상 수상


2011년 11월 4일 이대길 교수(KIDCS 복합시스템설계연구소 소장) 연구팀은 현대자동차 주관의 우수산학과제상을 수상하였다.

본 상은 2006년부터 2010년까지 현대자동차에서 진행된 430여개 산학과제 중, 기술의 우수성, 특허, 적용성등의 다수 항목을 평가하여 상위 5개 산학과제에 주어진다.

이번 평가대상 산학 과제 중 평가 점수 1등으로 본 상을 수상하게 되었다.

주요 연구성과로는 연료전지 스택의 핵심부품 중 하나인 엔드플레이트에 대하여 Axiomatic Design을 이용한 기능 분석을 통하여 복합재료 샌드위치 구조의 설계를 도출하고 이를 제작하였으며, 체결기구에 새로운 개념도 도입하였다.

또한, 세계 최초로 장탄소섬유복합재료를 이용한 연료전지 분리판 개발에 성공하여, 연료전지 내구성 향상 및 경량화에 새로운 가능성을 제시 하였다.

이들 연료전지 관련 연구를 통하여 국내외 특허 등록 5개 출원 34건 등을 확보하였으며, 기술 경쟁이 치열한 연료전지 분야에서 기술 선점에 기여 하였다.
