Therapeutic Bioengineering
KIHST will use engineering approaches to develop new biomedical devices and therapeutic technologies in order to address real clinical needs. In particular, KIHST will develop innovative multi-disciplinary therapeutic bioengineering, and individualized and targeted disease treatment and monitoring techniques. KIHST will work at the intersection of engineering and biomedicine to develop advanced therapeutic technologies for human diseases.
Research Topics
- Innovative Multi-disciplinary Therapeutic Bioengineering
Bioengineering is a multidisciplinary field that weaves together biology, physics, chemistry, medicine and engineering. We will use multidisciplinary approaches to develop new biomedical devices and therapeutic technologies for treatment and prevention of human diseases. - Individualized and Targeted Disease Treatment and Monitoring Techniques
We will use nanotechnology solutions to develop targeted drug delivery systems for disease treatment that takes into account individual variability in genes, environment, and lifestyle for each person. Furthermore, we will develop biomedical devices for real-time and precise monitoring of response to treatment with non-invasive or minimally-invasive methods.
