The NAS Awards were given to Prof. Soon Hyung Hong (Former director of KINC), Prof. Dai Gil Lee (Director of KIDCS), and Prof. Chang Hee Nam (KIOST).

The National Academy of Sciences Award was established in 1955, under the Culture Protection Act. To further the advancement of science in Korea, the National Academy of Sciences presents the NAS Award to Korean scholars and scientists who have made significant contributions to the development of sciences through research and academic pursuits.

이대길 교수 (Complex Systems 설계연구소장, 기계공학과), 홍순형 교수 (전 나노융합연구소장, 재료공학과), 남창희 교수 (광기술연구소, 물리학과)가 제55회 대한민국학술원상 수상자로 선정됐다.
대한민국학술원은 지난 9일 정기총회를 열어 제55회 대한민국학술원상 수상자 4명을 선정했다. 그밖에, 서울대 김경진(58·신경생물학) 교수가 수상자로 뽑혔다.  시상식은 9월 17일 학술원에서 열리며, 수상자는 각각 상금 5000만원을 받는다.
